Exposure to low doses of atrazine, a widely used herbicide, caused prostate inflammation in rats and delayed the onset of puberty. Atrazine, a herbicide used to control weeds and grass crops such as corn and sugarcane, is known for being relatively persistent in the environment, potentially find their way in water supplies.

Research, appearing in Reproductive Toxicology, found that the incidence of prostate inflammation spent 48 percent in rodent not exposed to 81 percent in male offspring which were prenatally exposed to a mixture of atrazine and its degradation products group. The severity of inflammation increased with the strength of the puberty dosis.La also was delayed in animals receiving atrazine.Doses of atrazine given to rats during the last five days of pregnancy are similar to the levels in drinking water sources.

"Do not look forward to seeing these kinds of effects at these low levels," said Suzanne Fenton, National Institute of environmental sciences of the salud.Fenton was the author of a document of 2007 showed the low doses of atrazine delayed breast development in females.

Fenton notes that these findings may extend beyond of atrazine alone, and can be relevant to other herbicides to be found in the same family of chlorotriazine including propazine and simazina.Los three herbicides created the same set of decomposition products.

"We hope that this information will be useful to the EPA, to complete its assessment of the risk of atrazine," said Linda Birnbaum, director of the national program of Toxicology at the National Institute of environmental health sciences.

The secret of muscle building isn't heavyweight, say scientists from McMaster University, but the pump iron for because with light weights up to fatigue muscular.publicado in the journal PLoS ONE, the new study contradicts current dogma gym.

"Instead of snoring and straining to lift heavy loads, you can grab something much lighter but you have to lift it until you cannot lift already," said McMaster Stuart Phillips."We are convinced that muscle growth means stimulating their muscle to make new proteins of muscle, a process in the body over time builds up in larger muscles".

"The study shows that it is not really the weight lifting, but the fact that you get muscle fatigue that is the critical point in building muscle. researchers used weights light representing a percentage of what you could lift the temas.Los heavyweight settled for 90 percent of the best lift light weights in one simple and the person 30 per cent.""It's a very light weight," says Phillips, noting that the range of 90-80 percent is generally something people can lift from 5-10 times before fatigue is establece.En 30 percent, the subjects could lift that weight at least 24 hours before he felt fatigue.

"We are excited to see where will lead this new paradigm," says Phillips, who believes that the study has practical significance for fitness enthusiasts and people with mass of skeletal muscle committed themselves, such as older people.

The involved researchers asked nearly 600 women aged between 18-95 on six key areas of female sexual dysfunction (FSD): lack of desire, arousal, lack of lubrication, issues problems to achieve an orgasm, lack of satisfaction and intercourse pain. Almost two-thirds of women surveyed reported at least one area of the problem.

"We found that 63 percent of women are victims of the Division of family services and that there were important links between the Division of family services and age, State of menopause and selective antidepressants," said study co-author Dr. Debra Fromer.

Some of the key findings included: more age groups sexually assets were 31-45 - age (87%), 18 - 30 years - old (85%) and 46-54 - year years (74%).Then fell sharply in the 55 - 70 - age (45%) and women who were over the age of 70 (15%).The more general problem was lack of desire (47%), followed by an orgasm problems (45%), problems of excitation (40%), lack of satisfaction (39%), lack of lubrication (37%) and pain (36%).Five of the six issues increased to women got older: 36 96%, excitation of 27-54%, lubrication of 26 to 45 per cent, satisfaction from 28 to 88%, and 10 to the single category that improves with age 56%.La pain wanted to orgasm, with greater in the group age (54%) than in the 31-45 (43%) and 46-54 (48%) of 18-30 age groups problems.

They were the three main problems by age group: 18-30 age: orgasm (54%), desire (36%) and the satisfaction (28%) de 31-45 years of age: wish (48%), orgasm (43%) and satisfaction (40%) from 46-54 years old: wish (65%), satisfaction (53%) and orgasm (48%) of 55 to 70 years of age: desire (77%), orgasm (66%), satisfaction (65%) more than 70 years of age: wish (96%), satisfaction (88%) and orgasm (87%).

"Researchers have found significant associations between the most important categories of sexual dysfunction, reduced physical and emotional satisfaction and well-being general.Por that is so important to ensure that problems are identified and addressed wherever possible," concluded Fromer.

Being a boy only long has been thought to be more stressful and now a new study confirms that they are married alter their hormones in a way that reduces stress. And you don't need a marriage license to benefit as unmarried persons in a romantic, committed relationship show that the same reduced responses to stress, according to the Dario Maestripieri researcher at the University of Chicago.

"These results suggest that mismatch and unique individuals are more receptive to psychological stress that married individuals, a finding consistent with a growing body of evidence showing that the marriage and social support can buffer against stress," said Maestripieri, who was the principal investigator in the study.

Conclusions of the Maestripieri had involved measuring the levels of cortisol in the subjects as undergone experiences estresantes.Cortisol is known as the stress hormone.

"" We found that unpaired individuals of both sexes had increased levels of cortisol than people married,"says Maestripieri.""Although the marriage can be very stressful, should make it easy for people managing other stressors in their vida.Lo we find is that the marriage has a moderator on the responses of cortisol to psychological stress effect, and that is very new."

Assert male menopause affects 5 millions of men
George Atkinson

Robert Brannigan, a urologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, says that 95 per cent of male menopause patients are not diagnosed and without male tratamiento.Menopausia or Hypogonadism, as it is known in the medical community, occurs when the testes do not produce enough testosterone, the hormone that plays a role key in masculine traits.

"This is a very prevalent," said Brannigan, who explained that hormonal variations are a normal part of aging."Women, ovulation comes to an end and hormone production decreases at a relatively fast time, considering that the experience of male hormone changes more slowly, with levels of testosterone falling around one percent each year starting in thirty years from the end of a man".

At the age of seventy years, the reduction in the level of testosterone in male could be as high as 50% or more compared to the levels of reference, but Brannigan notes that aging men aren't the only ones at risk.A number of genetic causes can affect males from birth and is usually diagnosed with insufficient progress normally through of puberty during the teenage years.

Treatment for male hypogonadism options include the hormone replacement therapy (HRT) on topical gels, patches, and the inyecciones.A through HRT, doctors can restore muscle strength and function sexual.Además, men often experience increased energy and a more general sense of well-being.

"" We are seeing more men affected by male hypogonadism we saw ten years ago,"said Brannigan.""However, many men are still suffering in silence due to lack of awareness surrounding the trastorno.Porque male hypogonadism can significantly affect the quality of life, it is important that men pay attention to his body and openly discuss your symptoms with your doctor in order prevent overlooking the cause and to avoid the lack of an opportunity for the appropriate therapy."Male Hypogonadism is commonly diagnosed through a simple blood test.

Erectile meds linked to risk of STD

A new report that appears in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine says that men over the age of 40 years who use drugs for erectile dysfunction (ED) are more likely to be sexually transmitted diseases. Researchers behind the report say that doctors prescribe to ED drugs should be sure to discuss the importance of sex practices safer, especially with older patients.

"" Anyone who does not practice safe, no matter their age sex can get STDs,"says Anupam B. Jena (Massachusetts General Hospital), the lead author of the study.""While the sexually transmitted diseases are quite rare among higher - order 1 per 1,000 people - men found that rates of STD in men who use drugs ED were two or three times higher, both before and after that fills your first prescription."

ED drugs have become popular from sildenafil (Viagra) was introduced in 1998.As soon as it was in 2002 estimated up to 20 percent of men over 40 Americans had attempted a ED.Los drug studies have shown that increasing rates of sexually transmitted diseases in older individuals and over 50 people are much less likely than younger men used condoms during sexual intercourse. Worryingly, a survey of doctors found that rarely, if ever, discussed reducing sexual risk factors with the middle of the patients of age or older.

Small studies of men who have sex with men had associated with increased rates of sexually transmitted diseases and high-risk behaviors ED drug. But no previous studies had examined the relationship between drug ED and STD risk in a large and representative private sample insured older men.For the current study, researchers examined health insurance claims records corresponding to 1997 although 2006 44 large U.S. employers.

"While the data collected for the study could not indicate if using own ED drugs increase risk of STD, authors are investigating this question in a subsequent study.""" Health care providers must recognize that their older adult patients who are on the ED drugs already are at increased risk for having or acquiring STDs, "says co-researcher Dana Goldman (University of Southern California).""Both doctors who prescribe these drugs and pharmacists that fill the prescriptions must counsel all the patients on the importance of safer sexual practices".

Disputing the previous investigation, a large U.S. study shows that increased with higher levels of testosterone men are more likely to have a heart attack or other cardiovascular problems. The results were presented at the 92nd annual meeting of the Endocrine society.

"The findings in this study contradict smaller studies that have shown that testosterone levels are not associated with higher rates of cardiovascular disease," said researcher Kristen Sueoka, the University of California, San Francisco."Many in the audience in general are using testosterone supplementation for various medical problems, including sex drive and mood disorders, which are not life threatening.""These men can unknowingly own marketing at increased risk of cardiovascular disease."

Participants in the study, which were under the age of 65 years or older, had his testosterone levels measured and were followed by four years.Around 14 per cent had a coronary heart disease during this período.después adjust researchers for other possibilities which contribute to the risk factors, such as high cholesterol, found that testosterone level total above refers to an increased risk of disease with the highest coronaria.Hombres event (greater than or equal to 495 nanograms per deciliter) testosterone levels had more than double the risk of coronary heart disease.

"" Men with the highest testosterone could be potentially at risk for heart disease irrespective of the definition of 'normal' levels,"says Sueoka.""A day in testosterone measurements can be used to help predict that men are more prone to develop diseases cardiovasculares.Pero need further studies to confirm the high testosterone is a risk factor for heart disease".

Swingers - who regularly exchange sexual partners and enjoy group sex - have markedly higher rates of sexually transmitted infections and can provide a bridge for transmission to the entire population, say doctors log-transmitted infections sexually. added that swingers who are over age 45 are especially vulnerable.

The conclusions of the study are based on almost 9,000 queries conducted at sexual health clinics in the Netherlands.Clinics have systematically recorded if a patient is a swinger since the beginning of 2007, in an attempt to track infection rates among this group.

Key findings include:

"While other STDs, as youth groups risk [straight people] [gay men] are systematically identified in healthcare infections sexually and provided appropriate services, transmission facilities usually is not the case for swingers," say the researchers.

Technical laser can reduce sexual side effects of prostate surgery
George Atkinson

A new laser technology used with robotic prostate cancer surgery can significantly reduce the risk of incontinence and erectile dysfunction, say Urologic surgeons at Presbyterian Hospital in New York and Columbia University Medical Center.Sus findings, published in the journal of Endourology, represent the first practical assessment using CO2 laser surgery for prostate cancer.

"The accuracy of available movement through the robotic surgery is already helping to reduce the risk of sexual side effects, and is evidence that CO2 lasers will help us be even more precise - especially when preserving the sensitive nerve areas necessary for sexual function and urinary continence," says Dr. Ketan Badani, director of robotic urological surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

In the procedure, robotics instrumentation removes prostate patients and is aided by the laser, which is used to dissect the plane between nerves and prostate, freeing nerves and conservation.

"" Traditionally, we cut, trim or cauterize tissue around the nerves of the prostate. However, these techniques can cause irreversible damage due to injury of traction or heat, "explains Dr. Badani.""The CO2 laser can reduce this risk because it is under heat and does not require much manipulation of nerves".

Dr. Badani says that laser patients experienced a return of urinary Continence better than the rule, something he found "very encouraging".the future research will determine whether technology can improve the results with respect to the ability of men to maintain an erection and its long-term capacity to prevent recurrence of cancer.

Best practice described in case of ambiguous genitalia

Best practice described in case of ambiguous genitalia
George Atkinson

Writing in the Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology and metabolism, doctors have proposed a set of guidelines for when genital surgery is studying to make the appearance of a typical child sex in order to facilitate the development of gender identity.

The researchers suggest an approach to decision making in six steps to provide health care providers the opportunity to clarify the reasons for their recommendations, identify and fill gaps in the understanding of parents of your child's diagnosis and treatment options and explore the underlying values to the concerns of parents and doctors.

"The big question we are dealing with is that there is no standard approach or best practice for doctors and family members to continue to address decisions to babies born with disorders of sexual development," said Alexander Kon, Faculty of medicine at UC Davis study author.

Disorders covered by the guidelines include a wide range of conditions such as those in which infants are born with genitalia have male and female attributes, and infants whose genitals is atypical for sex because it is more for a female or elsewhere masculinzed bass-masculinized for a male.

Doctors, generally agreed that there is a need for a process clearly defined for medical decision-making in these cases. The authors of the study have applied this recommendation in the process to consider elective genital surgery, or genitoplasty, for children born with atypical sexual development. In the past, such decisions have been driven by doctors and parents personal values and "gut feelings," often with less optimal results, the study says.

Providers of health care often report feeling conflicted if made recommendations suitable for families and parents reported feeling rushed in decision-making.The researchers said that shared decision-making would require caregivers clinical reveal his reasoning, values and biases and explore their patients or their feelings of alternates.

Kon and his co-researchers recommended six steps for shared decision-making: set the stage and develop suitable equipment, for example, including all necessary subspecialists for a complex decision and ensure that parents are comfortable with the team members.Setting preferences for information and decision-making roles ensure that parents have access to the amount of information you want in the way they want to receive it.Perceive and deal with the emotions associated with the decision-making process to ensure that they recognized the need for parents to obtain information and their feelings about the decision.Parents who are too worried about atypical genitals of children may not be willing to participate effectively in the decision-making process and may be unable to offer truly measure informado.La possible permission, parents who are experiencing strong emotional reactions need help deal with these feelings of authorizing elective surgery.Set the concerns and values, from how doctors framing discussions with parents can have a significant impact on how a family can perceive the circumstances and his son.If the problem is defined as "abnormal genitalia", the answer may be different "challenges grow with an atypical body".the discussion, must therefore change discussion outside of the choice of whether or not having surgery to "how to better address concerns that we have identified?"Identify options and provide evidence of an objective way, presenting options and the tests associated with options disponibles.Los suppliers should strive to objectivity, convey what you think that the team is the best course of action and why he is supported by shared pruebas.Responsabilidad for a decision is facilitated through the process of six pasos.Los parents must have received objective information and emotional support to help them make decisions racionales.El health care team will have acquired knowledge on the priorities of the parents and family circumstances, is expected to lead to a consensus based on trust and understanding.

"" Pediatric literature suggests that around a quarter of families want completely oriented to the family decision-making and another quarter want completely driven by the doctor taking of decisions,"said Kon.""The other half want shared decision-making decisiones.Hemos trying to develop a process to enable families to feel comfortable with express their feelings and values in a scenario that involves also to doctors, nurses, chaplains, and others in the process."

Public service announcement, it was found that he requires the Predictor long-term prostate cancer death
George Atkinson

A prostate specific antigen (PSA) at the age of 60 years a blood test can accurately predict the risk that a man may die from prostate cancer within the next 25 years, say researchers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.could have important implications for determining which men should be screened after the age of 60 and which may not benefit from continued future prostate cancer screening.

The study analyzed blood samples from 1,167 men born in 1921 that were collected between 1981 and 1982. All  men were monitored until they had reached the age of 85 or had died. After studying different biomarkers, researchers found that the PSA level was a highly accurate predictor of long-term risk of prostate  cancer. In the study, 126 men were diagnosed with cancer of the prostate and of those, 90 percent of the deaths occurred in men in 25% of PSA levels at 60 years of edad.Los researchers concluded that men with a PSA level above 2 ng/ml at 60 years of age should be considered a higher risk of aggressive prostate cancer and must continue to be regularly reviewed.

Men with a PSA level below 1 ng/ml were 0.2% chance of death by cancer prostate. researchers concluded that men with PSA levels in this range, which is approximately half of all men, must be considered at low risk of death from prostate cancer and do not need to be projected in the future.

"Interestingly, the study also indicated that in some men it was found that in low-risk range may actually have prostate cancer; however is not likely to cause symptoms or shorten your life by the age of 85.""We know that [PSA] screening detects many prostate cancers are not harmful, leading to anxiety and therapy innecesario.Los researchers concluded that it is our ability to determine the risk of really aggressive cancers that makes this approach of this great potential value".

Preventing Skin Cancer Is Possible

By Steve Jackson

One of the most preventable (and often very treatable) cancers is that of the skin. By taking care of your skin and checking it often for suspicious growths you should have no trouble from the effects of skin cancer.

Staying out of the sun is your best protection. Of course, that is not always possible so stay in the shade and avoid direct sunlight whenever possible. Hats and proper clothing are also positive ways to protect your skin for the sun's harmful rays.

You should realize that even on cloudy days, the ultra-violet rays from the sun can still reach you. Yes, even when it is cloudy, your skin can get burned. Swimming pools are not safe havens either. Your skin can get sunburned even when your body is in the water, and skin cancer could result in the future.

Wearing sunscreen is important every time you go out in the sun. Generously apply SPF fifteen or more every time. Reapplication is a must to insure your best chance of avoiding skin cancer. Remember if you are sweating or swimming to reapply after each time.

Children's skin is even more delicate than your own and therefore must be looked after carefully. However, it is important to remember that children who have not reached 6 months of age cannot wear sunscreen on their skin yet. With that in mind be sure to keep them out of direct sunlight at all times and remember to always keep their skin covered. Warn older children that prolonged unprotected exposure to the sun's harmful rays can eventually lead to skin cancer and that they would be safer in the shade.

Keep an eye on your skin for any changes to the growths that are preexisting or new ones that appear suddenly. Watch for growths that increase in size or become irregular in shape. You should also watch for transparent or multicolored growths on your skin. If you have wounds or cuts on your skin that will not heal have them checked out by your doctor.

You should make it a point to have your skin checked on a regular basis when visiting a doctor. .Ensure that you examine your skin every month. This is one of the best ways of detecting skin cancer early. Make sure to be watchful of your skin and health, and if you develop any problems, consult a doctor for immediate treatment.

Stage Four Cancer Sufferers

By Lilian Redhage

Cancer is one of the most typical causes of death in the world. There are actually various types of cancer. For example bone cancer, brain cancer, and liver cancer only to name just a few. Prostate cancer; however is a cancer characterized by the abnormal growth of cells in the prostate gland.

Prostate gland is composed the reproductive system, thus the very first thing that will occur if someone is identify with prostate cancer is the spread of cancer cells over the reproductive organ, bones, and nearby systems inside the body. Prostate cancer is classified into stages, though the worst is Stage 4 or the critical stage. What usually occurs through the critical stage? Do you know the things that the sufferer feels when he's in critical stage?

Stage 4 of critical cancer is characterized by hot spots in the spine, ribs, skull, shoulder, and bones of the hips. The sufferer vomits a lot, and usually out of mind. Since cancer cells usually spread out, is associated as met static prostate cancer, the cancer cells from the prostate are shredding damaging identical cells toward other systems of the body including bones. We're conscious this stage of cancer is actually difficult to cure because it is in the critical stage and might ultimately result in death.

The symptoms of prostate cancer vary for every person. It may rely on the patient's physical status, how he is to do with it, and exactly how he manages the condition. Most people may think that if prostate cancer gets to stage 4, the sufferer didn't focus on it, causing it to get worse. It's a misconception. Most people, even when they have enough medications gets to this stage since the cancer cells are increasing mistakenly towards other parts of the body that can't be cured all at ones.

Whether or not the person undergoes therapy, for example, the cancer cells reach the bones, and other organs of the body, the prostate cancer stage will continue to advance. Eventually, the patient may vomit a lot because of the reaction of his body towards the medications that's given to him. Vomiting is one of the problems of getting stage four prostate cancer and the patient will certainly be weak.

The Most Effective Common Treatment For The Cancer Of Prostate

By Phylicia Hettinger

In hormonal treatment, this is utilized to reduce or manage the healing or treating instantly the cancer named. Cancer of prostate was recognized for its androgen reliant and it might be disallowed by implies of androgen removal.

Hormone healing was suggested for this cancer to keep back the androgen motivation for the prostate by decreasing the plasma that flow all through the stages of the man's testosterone which has been joined or related by di-hydrotestosterone. The pro-static epithelium's results was then diminishes and also the effect ended by getting off the man's testes or the process was so known as orchiectomy by a surgical treatment.

Furthermore, estrogen treatment or diethylstilbestrol is another way to which it uses extended procedures to be able to control gonadotropins that are liable for those things and work inside the testicular androgen hence in taking out the hormonal to which it supports the raising of cancerous. The said treatment relieves the signs, reduces pain inside the nodes and diminishes the scale and enhancement of the tumor and also it provides a good consequence of intricate cancer.

Diethylstilbestrol is able to raise much danger of myocardial infraction, pulmonary strokes as well as thromboembolism and also its negative impact is it consists of the lack and the difficulty for it to attain orgasms and reduce the production of sperm. It also reduces the libido and the breast was then form into gynecomastia (maturing unusually of the breast). The acetate, Cyproterone (non-natural progesterone), is used to supply a competitive & useful reservation of androgen for the cells. Dissimilar to the estrogen, hormonal treatment methods are only made up of low premium of bad results in cardiovascular system.

The Cryosurgery is complete to reduce the pain of patient who's associated with this cancer once again. A material (Transperineal probes) was pop in into the prostate by the way of ultrasound for it to prevent the directed tissues.

Is The Sun The Only Cause Of Skin Cancer?

By Kathy Forcey

On gorgeous summer days, people often spend a day at the beach basking in the sun. But we are now aware that the sun can be problematic for our skin, causing problems from premature aging to skin cancer.

Of course, we all know that we should be wearing sunscreen when we go outside at all times. How many people actually put sunscreen on in the morning in their daily routine. We typically only think of sunscreen when we are planning a day out of doors. We are warned on a continuous basis to keep our skin protected from the harmful rays and stay out of the sun when it is at its strongest. Younger people tend to not pay attention to these warnings about skin cancer and the sun.

It is important that you keep your skin protected from the sun regardless of your age. The harmful effects of overexposure to the sun may not show up for years but it will eventually begin to take its toll. That is why when you are young you should take care to prevent the damaging effects of sun exposure. There are many things you can and should do to protect yourself from sun exposure.

It is important to remember to wear sunscreen any time you go out into the sun, not just on days you're hitting the beach. We're exposed to plenty of sun in our everyday lives, from waiting for the bus, to walking to work, to having lunch outside.

The standard protection for sun exposure is to wear an SPF of at least 15 to every area that is exposed to the sun. You should also keep your exposure between the hours of ten AM and three PM to a minimum. This is when the sun is at its strongest. It isn't just during the summer hours that you should watch your sun exposure. You can still become overexposed to sunlight in the fall and winter seasons. Make sure you are wearing a sunscreen all year round.

Remember to reapply sunscreen several times throughout the day. This is especially important if you have been swimming or engaging in physical activity. Special attention is needed for children; they will not apply sunscreen on their own, and are the most at risk. Andropause the Male Menopause

Andropause is a stage in man's life when there is a noticeable decline in the male hormone testosterone. This usually happens when a man is his late 40's or early 50's. However it can extend until you reach your eighties. During this period of hormone decline men tend to suffer physical, emotional, psychological and behavioral problems.

Andropause symptoms vary from one man to another. However most men between fifty to seventy years old report the following symptoms: erectile dysfunction, tiredness, sudden mood swings, night sweats and occasional heart palpitations.

But what happens to a man during the andropausal years?

The decrease of testosterone makes andropausal men likely to become more involved in domestic issues w such as cooking, house keeping and bonding with children or grand children. Men tend to devote more time to the family and hobbies rather than work. In a sense, the decrease of testosterone level in Andropause men tends makes them gentler and domesticated. Men become less ambitious and impulsive and much easier to get along with during andropause.

Andropause is apart of aging, and it isn't always a bad part of life, it is a chance for men to take the time to bond with family and friends, to be noticed for his achievements, efforts and wisdom.

Andropause - male menopause

Male menopause - males go through menopause Male menopause symptoms are similar to those experienced by a female as she is going through menopause in her middle age. There is one big difference to the outcome though - women will lose their fertility whilst men will not There is another name for male menopause - andropause Andropause can actually be brought upon by things such as depression, obesity and dementia. It can also occur naturally. Only some men will experience a significant drop in testosterone levels in their 40's and beyond. Many men keep healthy levels well into their 80's.

Male menopause and depression

Male menopause and depression are commonly linked. Low testosterone levels have been known to bring on depression in middle aged men.
Many men feel it is 'weak' and unmanly to seek help for depression he may be feeling due to the drop in testosterone levels that can occur during male menopause.

Male menopause and the underlying depression can set in from anywhere after forty years of ago. Some men begin producing less testosterone as early as their late 30's, however the 40's and 50's are the most common periods for reduced testosterone production and the onset of male menopause.

Male menopause does not even receive a significant amount of attention in the scientific field. This is a shame as male menopause can lead to serious bouts of depression in middle aged men; therefore it is well worth researching. Depression in men can lead to anger and aggression.

Male menopause and depression comes about usually because of the fact that impotence and erectile dysfunction can set in. This is obviously highly distressing for a man which in turn leads to feelings of ill-worth and depressive thoughts.
He may begin to think that it is his fault without realizing that he is actually going through a form of menopause.

Some symptoms of male depression during menopause are denial, aggression and occasionally complete withdrawal from regular activities. Statistics say that up to 80% of adults with depression will never seek help - this is an alarmingly high number of people who will never acknowledge that they are depressed, let alone try to combat it.

Male menopause and depression should be researched and spoken about openly - after all that is the only way to help combat it.
